Dear Senators,
I am elated to join the Capital School District family to serve students, staff and parents with community in the spirit of excellence.
I bring you 32 years of experience serving in various roles and in different settings such as a case manager for adjudicated youth, a high school teacher, a curriculum specialist, a parent involvement coordinator, an Assistant Principal of a Career Technical Education High School, a K-8 Principal, a Director of Program Development/Reform, Director of Curriculum & Standards-based Instruction, a Senior Director of Teaching and Learning K-12 and an Assistant Superintendent/Chief Academic Officer. I am a servant leader and my leadership style is predicated on a three-pronged holistic approach that includes students, staff and parents with the community.
It is my belief that the combination of all of these professional endeavors from serving the New York City Public Schools, the Chicago Public Schools, the Christina School District and the Sandusky City Schools has prepared me to be a good match for successfully leading the Capital School District.
You can expect that I will honor the work that has started before my arrival, embrace humility and Senator Pride. You can also expect me to lead collaboratively with the Capital School Board of Education and Senior Leadership Team. My core values include these three cornerstones:
- Excellence through Equity
- Unity through Love
- Leadership through Inclusiveness
I look forward to working with all members of our Senator Nation as we continue on our journey to “spur the audacity of hope to uncover the magic of new beginnings.”
In the Spirit of Unity through Love,
Dr. Vilicia Cade
Chief Executive Officer and Superintendent
Capital School District
