The Capital School District is accepting applications for three (3) parents/citizens and one(1) educator to serve on the Citizens Budget Oversight Committee. Applicants must agree to serve a two year term on the committee and attend Department of Education fiscal training. The committee will meet at least four (4) times a year to review the financial position of the district. 

Selection Committee
(to review applications to the Citizens Budget Oversight Committee)

The Capital School District is seeking volunteers to serve on a Selection Committee. The selection committee will consist of five members: one educator, one school board member, one member from the teachers’ association, and two parents or community members. The Selection Committee will review the applications submitted by interested candidates for the Citizens Budget Oversight Committee (CBOC). The Selection Committee will evaluate the applicants according to a rubric designed by the Department of Education. Volunteers must be parents or citizens residing in Capital School District. If interested in volunteering, please submit a brief letter including: 1) address 2) reason for wanting to serve on the selection committee and 3) your association to the district.
The Capital School District will be accepting applications for the Citizens Budget oversight Committee and letters of interest for the Selection Committee until 4:00 pm August 30th, 2023, at 198 Commerce Way, Dover, DE 19904. Applications can be obtained by calling (302) 672-1500 or from the district website at www.capital.k12.de.us.

Volunteers cannot apply for both committees.
