Getting Involved

Children whose parents/guardians are involved in their child’s education tend to do better in school, have better behavior and have more positive attitudes toward school and lead a more successful adult life.

How can you get involved?

  • Attend back to school nights  (Each school celebrates the new school year and provides helpful information for families)
  • Attend school events:
    • Parent teacher meetings
    • Student exhibitions
    • Concerts
    • Athletic events
    • Parent teacher organizations
  • Volunteer
    • Be a mentor to a child (Click Here to Mentor A Student at Capital School District)
    • Serve on a school or district committee - let your opinion be heard!
    • Chaperone field trips or dances

What if you don’t have time to volunteer?
