How Do I Enroll My Student?
Step 1: Identify Your School of Residence
Use the Delaware School Locator to find your resident school, based on your address. If you are participating in School Choice, you are required to register with your resident school first before applying for choice.

Step 2: Gather Your Required Documents
*To ensure a prompt and successful registration, the following information is required at the time of registration:
1. Birth Certificate
2. Proof of residency
(Utility bill w/parents name, legal agreement w/landlord and parent’s name)*
3. Legal Photo ID
4. Immunization records and current physical
5. TB Screening
6. Proof of parenthood/guardianship
(May require custodial papers and primary placement papers)
7. Legal Photo ID
If you are transferring to Capital School District from another school district, please include the following:
1. Withdrawal papers from the former school
2. Transcript of grades or report cards from former school
3. I. E. P. / 504 documentation
*The lack of information will not serve as a barrier to registration and placement for those students who are eligible for services under the McKinney Vento Homeless Education Act.
Step 3: Register Online or via Paper Forms
You can enroll your student in Capital School District, through the online enrollment forms, or by using the downloadable PDF forms at the bottom of this page.
*Your child must be at least 5 years old on or before August 31 of any school year to attend kindergarten, and at least 4 years old on or before August 31 of any school year to attend PreK.
Please Note: Pre-K registrations are by invitation only. Please contact the Early Childhood Office for questions on eligibility and availability.
