Career and Technical Education

The Capital School District is proud to offer 13 Career and Technical Education (CTE) Pathways that lead students to post-secondary success in college and career.

CTE experience for students begin in the 7th grade in the areas of AgriScience, Business, Jobs for Delaware Graduates, Health Sciences (all health fields), Family Consumer Science, and Project Lead the Way (PLTW). PLTW exposes students to Engineering, HVAC-Sheet-Metal, and Manufacturing at the high school level.


Dover High School CTE Programs



While in high school, students are able to choose from the following pathways, which all include options in Dual Enrollment, Advanced Placement, and Advance Standing with local institutions of higher learning with an inclusive model of support for all students.  CTE program offerings also include Kent County Secondary ILC and Kent County Community School. 

Early Career Experience

Students in CTE pathways are also required to complete a variety of work-based learning opportunities including job shadow, guest speakers, mentorships, mock interviews, site visits, and culminating with an internship in their junior or senior year.
