Superintendent Update Oct 15th, 2021
Superintendent Update Oct 15, 2021Greetings Senator Nation!

Please remember to sign up for school messenger by providing us with a current phone number and email so that you may receive our 6 pm weekly COVID update.  This week we had 12 cases over 6 schools. It’s my honor to share the following weekly update for the Week of October 11th.   Today is our homecoming parade and we will defend our Senator Pride against Sussex Central in tonight’s football game!

This week I visited schools and talked with students at Dover High School and Kent County Secondary ILC. I also visited with students in the Alpha program in 3rd and 4th grade classrooms at BTW.  In visiting Fairview elementary school, Mrs. White and I shared her lunch duty responsibilities as we interacted with students.   Meeting with the students, teachers and staff is so enjoyable and I continue to learn so much about Senator traditions.

This week I started meetings with our custodial staff members.  It was delightful to meet and hear from those who help esteem our dignity and play such an integral role in creating the physical environment that is conducive to learning.

Next week, we will convene a Trauma and School Connectedness Task force on Wednesday as we galvanize our community in efforts to continue to spur the audacity of hope to uncover the magic of new beginnings.  I want to give a special shout out to my new mentee Alexis Cohen, a Math teacher at Dover High School. Please know how much you matter to me and so many others! I am grateful for the consideration and opportunity to learn from you and everyone.

I hope to see you in your blue and white this weekend for homecoming as we celebrate the rich legacy of what makes Senator Nation so extraordinary.

Go Senators! Please join me in making this year’s homecoming extra special!

Sincerely,

Dr. Vilicia Cade
