Dr. Cade Lends a Hand at Dover Food Giveaway
On Dr. Cade’s birthday and just in time for Thanksgiving dinner, faith organizations and community members came together to give away turkeys and all the trimmings to residents of Dover Housing Authority’s Manchester Square Apartments.
The giveaway was led by the Rev. Dr. R.J. Chandler Sr., pastor of Scott African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in Wilmington and Transformation AME Zion Church in Dover. A total of 1,000 turkeys were given away at the event. Additionally, through a partnership between the Kent County Coalition and Focus Pharmacy in Smyrna, COVID-19 vaccinations were available at the event. A host of partners participated in the event including Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Donnell’s Salon for Men and Women in Dover, Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of Dover and Food Bank of Delaware. Mayor Robin Christiansen and Dover City Councilman Andre Boggerty also aided in the event.
