Capital School Board Appoints Dr. Vilicia Cade the New Superintendent
Dr. Vilicia CadeIt is with great pleasure that the Capital School District Board of Education announces the appointment of  Dr. Vilicia Cade as the new Superintendent of Capital School District.  Dr. Cade comes to Capital School District from Sandusky City Schools, Sandusky, Ohio where she currently serves as the Chief Academic Officer/Assistant Superintendent.

In the past, Dr. Cade served as a Senior Director of Teaching and Learning K-12 in the Christina School District, Wilmington, Delaware. Her educational experiences include serving as a High School Teacher, Curriculum Specialist, Assistant Principal of East New York High School of Transit Technology, K-8 Principal and Director of Program Development for the Brooklyn High Schools’ Superintendent Office within the New York City Department of Education. Dr. Cade brings a wealth of knowledge from her tenure with Chicago Public Schools in which she served as a Director of High School Curriculum and Standards-based Instruction.  She served her tenure as an Elementary School Principal in Broadview, Illinois, a western suburb of Chicagoland.  

Dr. Cade has earned her Doctorate of Education in restructuring schools through interagency partnerships from New York University. She has been awarded three masters degrees: Master of Science in Administration and Supervision and Master of Science in Teaching Reading both from Long Island University and the third a Master of Arts in African American Studies from the State University of New York at Albany.  She obtained her undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at New Paltz, a midsize teachers’ college.

Dr. Vilicia Cade will be joining the Senator Nation as Superintendent of Schools effective July 1, 2021.
