SAFE DE
About SAFE DE
Use the SAFE DE Website to send anonymous tips to report drugs, threats, suspicious activity, bullying and more to help keep your school safe. The tips are 100% anonymous. Technology removes all identifying information before administrators see the tips and there is no way to identify the sender. Once someone sends a tip, school officials receive it immediately and can respond back to create an anonymous two-way conversation.

SAFE DE is a 24/7 support resource for students, families, and school employees.
It gives every member of our school community a way to ask for help at any time, while staying completely anonymous.
Whether a family needs food or housing support, a staff member feels overwhelmed, or someone is facing another personal challenge, SAFE DE is here to help.
The SAFE DE app offers three ways for our school community to request and receive support:
- REPORT A CONCERN includes anonymous communication channels between users and designated school personnel. It allows users to request help directly from their school without the pressure of disclosing their identity. Users may also request help for a friend or family member.
- TEXT A COUNSELOR provides users with immediate mental health support. With a network of 27,000+ trained crisis counselors, users can text with a counselor (day or night), making sure no one feels isolated in their time of need. Counselors are available 24/7, 365 days of the year.
- ADDITIONAL RESOURCES is a safe space for users to explore essential needs and wellness resources at their own pace. It provides a confidential way to connect with local resources, ensuring privacy and dignity for those seeking assistance.
We kindly urge all parents to download the app. SAFE DE is not only a support system for your children, but also for you.
Getting Started with SAFE DE:
- Download the app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
- Select your school from the dropdown menu or enter the code provided by your school.
- Accept the terms and conditions.

GoGuardian Beacon
GoGuardian Beacon
Capital School District uses GoGuardian Beacon as part of our ongoing efforts to support student safety and well-being. GoGuardian Beacon is a student safety system that helps identify online activity that may indicate a student is at risk of self-harm or suicide.
When GoGuardian Beacon detects concerning online activity, such as searches, content, or interactions related to self-harm or suicide, the system may notify school administrators, school-based mental health staff, district support staff, and/or parents and guardians. These alerts allow trained staff to follow up quickly and help determine whether a student may need support.
While GoGuardian Beacon is an important safety tool, it cannot detect every situation in which a student may be at risk. It should also not be used as the only way to assess a child’s mental health or emotional well-being.
Information for Families
Families play an important role in supporting student wellness. If GoGuardian Beacon identifies a concern, a trained professional from Capital School District or Dover Behavioral Health System may contact you to help determine whether your child is safe.
After-hours parent and guardian notifications are also enabled. This means you may receive an email if the system identifies a concern outside of the school day. The email will include helpful resources for guidance and support.
If you receive a phone call or email, you may want to talk with your child about their online activity and ask whether something is troubling them. It is okay to be direct and ask, “Are you thinking about suicide?”
Please make sure your child’s school has your current email address and phone numbers on file so you can be reached quickly if needed.
If you have any questions, please contact your child’s principal. Thank you for partnering with us to help keep our students safe.
