Mentoring Programs
All Capital Schools support students through Creative Mentoring, a program of Connecting Generations, providing matching and training for in-school volunteer mentors.
Connecting Generations is the only organization in Delaware providing free, regularly scheduled mentor training to any adult who wishes to mentor a Delaware school-aged child.
Research shows that a strong mentoring relationship can be one of the most important relationships in a child’s development. Mentoring helps children achieve success in school and life by helping to build self-esteem, self-confidence, interpersonal communication skills, social values, aspirations, and school engagement. Through personal, one-on-one time in schools, mentors work with students to develop their unique qualities and to reach their full potential. (CG, 2018)

Then mentoring might be right for you!
There are 3 steps to becoming a mentor…
Step 1:
Complete a Mentor Application
Step 2:
Attend a training session.
Step 3:
Wait to be matched with a student in need.
You will note your preference of school, preferred student age, and your time availability to mentor when you complete your mentor application.
