Resources for Students in Crisis

This page contains information provided by Capital School District to help parents and students find information related to teen suicide prevention.

Listen and Look for Warning Signs of Suicidal Behavior

  • Hopelessness
  • Rage, uncontrolled anger, seeking revenge
  • Acting reckless or engaging in risky activities, seemingly without thinking
  • Feeling trapped – like there is no way out
  • Withdrawing from friends, family, and society
  • Anxiety, agitation, unable to sleep or sleeping all the time
  • Dramatic mood changes
  • No reason for living; no sense of purpose in life
  • Seek Immediate Help if you hear someone talking or writing about death, dying, or suicide. If someone threatens to hurt or kill themselves, or someone is looking for ways to kill themselves by seeking out means or if you are a concerned parent, friend or maybe even have concerns for yourself...help is available.
